Freight forwarding Düsseldorf – transport to and from Czechia
Transport between Düsseldorf and the Czech Republic: trade fair exhibits, chemicals, steel tubes and fashion goods. Full trucks, pallets, ADR and express.

Getting your stand to the fair on time
Düsseldorf runs one of Europe's largest exhibition centres, home to leading international trade fairs for plastics and rubber, printing, medical technology, wine and spirits, wire and tube, and boats. Czech exhibitors send machines, samples, stand construction and printed material here, then need everything brought home after the show. The deadline is absolute, and access to the halls during build-up and dismantling usually runs on allocated time slots, often with advance vehicle registration.
When you request a quote, please include:
- hall and stand number and the organiser's logistics instructions,
- build-up and dismantling dates,
- whether exhibits need a crane or forklift in the hall,
- what should happen to empty crates during the fair.
We book the return leg together with the outbound trip so the truck is at the stand when packing is finished.
What the city supplies
North Rhine-Westphalia's state capital is known more for trade and services than heavy industry, but several product groups regularly travel to Czechia: adhesives, detergents and cosmetics from the city's long-established chemical industry; steel tubes, wire and metal products, as Düsseldorf was historically a centre of tube making; components for vans, which are built in the city; clothing from the many fashion showrooms and wholesalers; and electronics, machinery and parts from the European branches of overseas companies. Düsseldorf has one of the largest Japanese communities in Europe, and many Japanese firms run their European operations from here. Czech suppliers in turn deliver engineering and automotive components, glass, furniture and food and drink to the region.
The Rhine and the neighbours
Together with neighbouring Neuss, Düsseldorf has extensive Rhine ports with container terminals and warehousing. Duisburg, Europe's largest inland port, is about 25 km north (see freight forwarding Duisburg), and the logistics hub of Venlo lies just across the Dutch border to the west. Goods ordered from a Düsseldorf company are often stored in one of these places, so always confirm the warehouse address rather than the head office. Express consignments from Düsseldorf Airport, Germany's third busiest by passenger numbers, can be collected by van.
Distance, time and service options
Prague to Düsseldorf is approximately 700–750 km, either via Rozvadov, Nuremberg, Frankfurt and the A3, or via Dresden, Erfurt and Kassel. A single driver normally needs two days, so expect delivery on the next working day after loading. Brno is approximately 900 km and two working days away.
A complete stand or large exhibit should travel as a dedicated full truck without transhipment. A few pallets of detergents or tubes suit groupage. Adhesives and solvents are often classified as dangerous goods and go with an ADR carrier. A missing stand part or late samples can follow by express van, usually by the next day. Our calculator shows the price including German truck toll.
Holidays and city access
Besides the Sunday and public holiday ban for trucks over 7.5 tonnes, North Rhine-Westphalia observes Corpus Christi and All Saints' Day on 1 November. A large part of the city is a low-emission zone, and our vehicles carry the green sticker. During major fairs the motorways around the exhibition centre and the airport in the north of the city are heavily congested, so morning slots elsewhere in Düsseldorf are the safer choice.
No customs formalities apply between Germany and the Czech Republic; a CMR consignment note and an invoice or delivery note are enough. For exhibits that return after the fair, a packing list makes it easy to check at reloading that everything is on board.
