Freight forwarding Alicante – transport to and from Czechia
Road freight from Alicante province to Czechia: footwear from Elche and Elda, toys from Ibi, turrón from Jijona, marble from Novelda. Full loads and groupage.
Footwear from Elche and the Vinalopó valley
Elche, together with Elda, Petrer and Villena in the Vinalopó valley, is the heart of Spain's footwear industry. Besides finished shoes the area makes soles, lasts, adhesives and other components. Shoe cartons are light but bulky: a trailer fills up by volume long before it reaches its weight limit, so for a Czech importer the pallet count and pallet height drive the cost. Ask your supplier to build pallets to the full height the trailer allows and to wrap them well. Leather goods should not sit on an open dock in the rain. Smaller workshops in Elda and Petrer often have no loading dock and load from the side by forklift or even by hand, so we check how loading works before booking the vehicle.
Where to load in the province
Alicante itself is a port and tourist city whose airport it shares with neighbouring Elche. Manufacturing is spread across smaller towns, mostly within 50 km of the coast, so we always need the exact pickup address rather than just “Alicante”.
- Elche, Elda, Petrer, Villena: footwear and leather goods – bulky, light cartons.
- Ibi and Onil: toys, plastic and metal products – pallets, full loads in autumn.
- Jijona: turrón and confectionery – temperature-controlled in warm weather.
- Novelda and Pinoso: marble and natural stone – slabs on racks, very heavy.
- Alcoy and Crevillent: textiles, home textiles and rugs – rolls and bales, bulky.
- Vinalopó valley: table grapes – reefer, autumn.
The autumn peak: toys and turrón
Ibi and Onil are Spain's traditional toy-making towns, and Jijona produces turrón, the almond confection eaten at Christmas. Both ship for the Christmas market between September and November, when demand for trucks across the Mediterranean rises. Book about a week ahead in that period. Turrón and chocolate products are heat-sensitive; in September, when Alicante is often still hot, we arrange a temperature-controlled trailer so the goods do not deform.
Marble: the opposite problem
Around Novelda and Pinoso marble and other natural stone is quarried and processed. Slabs, tiles and finished pieces travel on racks or in crates, and a truck reaches its legal weight with only part of the floor used. We need the weight of every crate or rack before booking, the load must be spread to protect axle limits and secured so polished slabs cannot shift, and the receiver needs a forklift or crane rated for the weight. Larger stone orders, often combined with tiles from Castellón, go as full truckloads in a curtainsider that can be loaded from the side or top.
Route, timing and groupage
Trucks follow the A-7 and AP-7 up the coast via Valencia, Castellón, Tarragona and Barcelona to La Jonquera, then through France to Lyon and across Germany to Rozvadov. Prague is about 2,250 km away; a full load usually arrives in 4–5 working days. Because many orders here are small and come from different towns, pallet groupage is especially useful: pallets are collected to a hub, consolidated and delivered in about 6–8 working days. France and Germany have weekend and holiday truck bans, Spain restricts heavy vehicles on some roads, and tolls apply in France, Germany and on Spanish toll sections.
Table grapes from the Vinalopó, ripened on the vine in paper bags and harvested in autumn, travel by reefer. Southbound, Czech firms send machine parts, plastics and packaging, glass and consumer goods for the busy tourist coast. See our Valencia page for the wider region or use the calculator for a quote.
