Freight forwarding Toulouse – transport to and from Czechia
Transport between Toulouse and the Czech Republic: aerospace components, tooling, electronics and south-west food. Dedicated trucks, express vans, pallets.
Toulouse in one sentence
This is where large airliners get their final assembly, where satellites are built and where hundreds of suppliers machine, wire, test and program the parts that go into them. The final assembly lines sit on the western edge of the city around Blagnac airport and in Colomiers, and the supplier base spreads across Occitania. For a freight forwarder this means cargo that is smaller, more valuable and more time-critical than average.
Fuselage sections and wings are not moved by ordinary trucks: France built a dedicated oversize route on which escorted night convoys bring them from the Garonne to Toulouse. The Czech connection is elsewhere, in components, jigs, gauges, test rigs and spare parts travelling in both directions. That is the cargo we handle.
Typical loads to the Czech Republic
- machined and composite aerospace parts, wiring harnesses, avionics,
- embedded electronics, sensors and measuring equipment, some of it for the automotive sector,
- tooling and assembly fixtures shuttling between production sites,
- south-west food: duck products and foie gras from the Gers, sheep's cheese from the Aveyron, pink garlic from the Tarn, wine and Armagnac,
- wheat, maize, sunflower seed and feed from the Lauragais plain.
Czech suppliers send precision-machined parts, castings and harnesses the other way, along with glass, building materials and beer.
Protecting high-value parts
A certified part with a dented crate is often scrap. Every cross-dock in a groupage network means another forklift move, so for aerospace cargo we prefer:
| Cargo | Recommended service | Transit to Prague |
|---|---|---|
| Small urgent parts, AOG-type spares | express van, direct | about 2 days |
| Jigs, crates, machines | dedicated truck or exclusive deck space | about 3 working days |
| Food on pallets, wine | groupage or reefer | about 4–6 working days (groupage) |
We ask the shipper for dimensions and weight of every piece, handling instructions, stacking rules and a consignee contact. Some military or dual-use items need a transfer licence even inside the EU; the shipper obtains it, and we need the reference before pickup.
The long road east
Toulouse is among the French cities furthest from Prague: roughly 1,600–1,650 km. The route follows the A61 past Carcassonne to Narbonne, the A9 along the Mediterranean via Montpellier and Nîmes, the A7 north to Lyon, then Franche-Comté, Mulhouse, Karlsruhe and Nuremberg to the Rozvadov border. A single driver needs about 3 working days, a two-driver crew about 2.
France bans trucks over 7.5 t from Saturday 22:00 to Sunday 22:00 and around public holidays; Germany on Sundays and holidays. On a three-day run, a Thursday pickup often means a weekend parked up, so Monday and Tuesday loadings work best. French motorway tolls and the German truck toll are included in the result of our freight calculator.
From Narbonne the route shares the A9 with much of the truck traffic from Spain to Central Europe, so a vehicle coming up from Catalonia can often add a Toulouse pickup on the way. Duck products and foie gras peak before Christmas; book November and December loadings early.
At the gate
Aerospace plants run strict access control. Expect the truck registration to be pre-notified, the driver to show ID at the gatehouse and loading to happen in an allocated slot; send us the purchase order number and contact name with your request. The industrial zones cluster around the airport and along the ring road, which is congested at rush hour. Toulouse also has a low-emission zone, whose current rules we check before each job. Wine and Armagnac are excise goods and need an electronic accompanying document issued by the shipper.

FAQ
About 1,600–1,650 km by road: roughly 3 working days with one driver, 2 days with a two-driver crew or an express van.
Yes: components, jigs, gauges and spares, ideally by dedicated truck or express van without cross-docking. Fuselage sections and wings travel in special oversize convoys, which we do not arrange.
Pre-notified registration, ID check at the gatehouse, a purchase order number and an allocated loading slot. We confirm all of this with the shipper in advance.
Duck products and foie gras from the Gers, sheep's cheese from the Aveyron, pink garlic from the Tarn, wine and Armagnac. Cheese and fresh products travel refrigerated.
Monday or Tuesday. With a three-day transit, weekend truck bans in France and Germany can delay anything loaded late in the week.
No, an invoice or delivery note and a CMR note are enough within the EU. Military or dual-use items may need a transfer licence arranged by the shipper.
