Freight and imports from Valencia to the Czech Republic
Road freight from Valencia to Czechia: ceramic tiles from Castellón, citrus and vegetables in reefers, port cargo. Full trucks and pallets via the AP-7 coast.
Ceramic tiles from Castellón
Around Castellón, Vila-real, Onda and l'Alcora, less than a hundred kilometres north of Valencia, is Europe's largest cluster of ceramic tile manufacturers. For Czech building-material retailers and contractors, this is the most common reason to book a truck from the region.
Tiles are weight-limited freight: a trailer reaches its legal weight long before the floor is full, so it typically carries only part of the pallets it could fit by volume. That is why we need the exact weight of each pallet. Pallets should be tightly wrapped with protected corners, otherwise tile edges chip over a long journey. Factories load from docks or by forklift from the side and are used to trucks, but often run a strict loading sequence, so a confirmed time helps.
Citrus and fresh produce
The fertile plain around Valencia is known for oranges and mandarins, harvested roughly from autumn to spring, along with vegetables, persimmons, rice and nuts. Fresh produce travels in a temperature-controlled trailer with a continuous temperature log. We work with carriers who run produce regularly and know the packing houses, which often load in the evening once packing is finished. Agree the set temperature with your supplier in advance; the temperature record is your evidence if a claim arises. In peak citrus season reefer capacity in Valencia is tight, as fruit leaves for all of Europe at once, so early bookings and flexibility on evening loading help.
The port of Valencia
Valencia is Spain's busiest container port, handling furniture, electronics, textiles and consumer goods from Asia, the Americas and North Africa. If third-country goods are cleared in Spain, they continue to Czechia with no further formalities; otherwise they travel under a transit document and are cleared on arrival. Warehouses around the port and along the V-31 transload containers onto pallets. South of the city there is automotive manufacturing, and the province of Alicante adds footwear, toys and furniture, which we can combine with a Valencia collection.
Route, rules and transit times
The route runs north on the coastal AP-7 past Castellón and Tarragona to Barcelona and the border at La Jonquera, through France via Montpellier and the Rhône valley to Lyon, then into Germany and on via Nuremberg to Rozvadov – roughly 2,100 km in total. France and Germany have weekend and holiday driving bans, while Spain and Catalonia restrict heavy vehicles on busy roads on certain days. Tolls apply in France, Germany and on some Spanish toll sections.
| Option | Typical cargo | Typical transit |
|---|---|---|
| Full truck (curtain-sider) | tiles, port cargo | 4 working days |
| Reefer truck | citrus, vegetables, food | 3–4 days |
| Groupage | 1–10 pallets, tile samples, furniture | 5–7 working days |
Smaller tile orders and single pallets go by pallet groupage; complete orders for a building project travel as a full truck straight to site or warehouse.
Exports and a checklist for faster loading
From Czechia to Valencia we move engineering products, automotive parts, glass, packaging and agricultural machinery; the same truck often returns with tiles or fruit.
- For tiles, provide the weight of each pallet and the total order weight.
- Confirm the loading time and reference with the factory or packing house.
- For produce, state the required temperature and pallet count.
- Tell us whether a forklift is available at the Czech delivery address – tiles are not unloaded by hand.
- Book at least 2–3 working days ahead, earlier during citrus season.

FAQ
A full truck usually arrives in 4 working days and chilled produce in 3–4 days. Groupage pallets take roughly 5–7 working days.
With tiles the limit is weight, not floor space, so the truck reaches its maximum weight first. We calculate the exact number from the pallet weights given by the factory.
Yes, in reefer trailers with a temperature log. Citrus is harvested roughly from autumn to spring, so book early in season.
Yes. We need the container number or the transloading warehouse address and whether the goods have already been cleared in Spain.
Trucks stop at weekends and on holidays in France and Germany, and Spain restricts heavy vehicles on certain days. We build Fridays and holidays into the transit time.
A CMR consignment note and an invoice or delivery note, plus a temperature log for food. There is no customs for EU goods.
