Road freight and forwarding — Denmark
Denmark is one of the destinations we serve with regular truck transport from the Czech Republic and back. We cover Copenhagen as well as other regions. We carry full truckloads (FTL) and smaller part loads (LTL), from a single pallet to a complete trailer.
Among the most frequent lanes are Prague → Kodaň, Prague → Aarhus. CMR consignment notes and complete transport and customs paperwork are always included. On busy lanes we look for backloads, which keeps the transport cost down and delivery times short — typically 24–72 hours within the EU.

Islands or mainland: the route decides
Denmark is closer to the Czech Republic than many expect: Prague to Copenhagen is roughly 750 km via Rostock or about 950 km via Hamburg. The real question on each job is which way to go, and that depends on whether we load on the islands or on the Jutland peninsula.
- Copenhagen and Zealand – Rostock – Gedser or Puttgarden – Rødby ferry, about 2 working days for a full truck.
- Funen and Odense – Puttgarden – Rødby, or via Jutland and the Great Belt bridge, about 2 working days.
- Southern and eastern Jutland (Kolding, Vejle, Aarhus) – via Hamburg, Flensburg and the Padborg crossing, no ferry, about 2 working days.
- Northern Jutland (Aalborg, Hirtshals) – via Padborg and the E45 motorway, 2–3 working days.
The Puttgarden – Rødby ferry across the Fehmarn Belt is short and frequent; Rostock – Gedser takes longer at sea but cuts the road leg from Bohemia. The Great Belt bridge between Jutland and Zealand is tolled separately.
Danish products on Czech shelves and lines
- Pork and dairy – chilled and frozen, from processing plants across Jutland.
- Fish and seafood from ports on the west and north coast of Jutland.
- Food ingredients, feed and enzymes for food production.
- Pharmaceuticals and medical devices, mainly from Zealand and the Copenhagen area.
- Wind-turbine components and engineering parts from Jutland; oversized items are handled case by case.
- Furniture, interior design and pumps for industry and construction.
Port pick-ups are typically in Aarhus, Denmark's largest container port, in Esbjerg with its offshore energy and ro-ro focus, in Fredericia or in Copenhagen – see our Copenhagen page for the capital.
Chilled and frozen food
Meat, dairy and fish travel in reefer or freezer trailers with an unbroken cold chain and temperature logging from loading to delivery, and we never mix temperature regimes. Perishables are exempt from Germany's Sunday truck ban, so these loads can be planned across the weekend. At the Czech end, have unloading and goods-in ready on arrival so the truck does not wait with the unit running.
Toll and road rules
Denmark has no general weekend truck ban. On the German leg the Sunday and holiday ban for vehicles over 7.5 t applies, plus summer Saturday restrictions on certain motorways. Both Germany and Denmark charge distance-based truck toll; ferry tickets and the Great Belt bridge come on top, and everything is included in our quote. Copenhagen and other large cities run low-emission zones for trucks.
Documents, exports and combining with Sweden
Within the EU a CMR note, invoice or delivery note and, for food, a temperature record are all you need. Northbound we ship Czech building materials, glass, car parts, machinery and beverages to Denmark. Copenhagen is only a short hop from Sweden across the Öresund, so pick-ups in both countries can share one trip – see transport to Sweden. Price your load in the calculator.
