A city of trade fairs

Kielce, with about 190,000 inhabitants, is the capital of the Świętokrzyskie (Holy Cross) Voivodeship. Many Czech companies know it for its exhibition centre, founded in 1992 and described by Poland's investment agency as the country's second-largest. Its biggest event is the international defence industry fair each September – for the 2026 edition the organiser announced over 1,100 exhibitors from 41 countries on more than 46,000 m². Agricultural, construction and technical fairs fill the rest of the calendar.

Fair logistics follow their own rules: exhibits are delivered only during build-up days, vehicles enter in allocated time slots, and everything must leave quickly after closing. Heavy or oversized exhibits such as machines, vehicles or container modules need dimensions and weights well in advance, sometimes with an abnormal load permit. Exhibits from non-EU countries usually travel on an ATA carnet. Send us the organiser's access instructions and your stand number early.

Built on limestone

The city lies in the middle of the Holy Cross Mountains on the Silnica river, 260 to 408 m above sea level. It was once a major limestone mining centre; the former Kadzielnia quarry in the city is now a nature reserve with an amphitheatre. Already in the 15th century the area smelted copper, lead and iron. Today limestone and marl from the region feed cement and lime plants, and aggregates go to road and rail projects. Bulk cement travels in silo tankers; we mainly handle bagged cement, lime and dry mixes on pallets and aggregates in tippers.

Bearings, valves and special bodies

  • rolling bearings – a Japanese-owned plant employs nearly 2,000 people in the city,
  • industrial valves and fittings for energy and industry,
  • special vehicles and bodies – fire and rescue trucks, tanker and tipper bodies, airport and winter maintenance vehicles,
  • steel structures for bridges and industrial buildings,
  • pneumatic tools, special tooling, welding and foundry work.

Bearings and valves are small but dense; one pallet can exceed a tonne, so in groupage we watch weight per pallet space. Finished vehicles and large bodies go on low-loaders or with specialised carriers, depending on size.

Apples from Sandomierz

About 90 km east of Kielce, the Sandomierz area is one of Poland's key fruit-growing districts – mainly apples, plus stone fruit and blackcurrants, much of it exported. We bring apples to Czechia in reefer trailers, at harvest time and in winter from controlled-atmosphere stores, with set temperature and a temperature record.

Routes to Czechia

The S7 expressway (Gdańsk – Warsaw – Kraków) and the S74 eastwards to Opatów and Zamość pass Kielce. The usual route south is the S7 to Kraków, then the A4 and A1 via Gliwice to the Gorzyczki – Věřňovice crossing; national road 78 via Jędrzejów and Zawiercie is shorter but slower. Ostrava is about 290 km away, Brno about 460 km and Prague about 650 km: same day to Ostrava, next day to Brno or Prague. The local airport has a short runway and no cargo, so air freight is collected in Kraków or Katowice.

Polish rules in brief

Vehicles over 12 t may not drive on public holidays during the day, nor on summer-holiday Friday evenings and weekends. Motorways and expressways carry electronic tolls; the A4 between Kraków and Katowice is tolled separately. No customs apply between Poland and Czechia – a CMR and invoice or delivery note suffice. Single pallets go by pallet groupage, reefer and full loads by truck transport; prices are in the calculator.
