Freight forwarding Rzeszów – transport to and from Czechia
Freight forwarding Rzeszów: aerospace parts, Krosno glass, tyres and machinery from Podkarpackie to Czechia. About 345 km to Ostrava via the A4, same day.
Aviation Valley
According to Poland's investment and trade agency, about 90% of the country's aerospace production comes from the Podkarpackie region. Manufacturers in Rzeszów, Mielec and nearby towns work together in a cluster known as Aviation Valley, making aero-engine parts, gearboxes, landing gear and structural components, helicopters and light aircraft. The local technical university trains both pilots and engineers.
For transport this means high-value goods with strict requirements. Machined titanium, nickel alloy or aluminium parts must not be scratched, crates must arrive untouched, and the consignee often wants a direct run with no transhipment. We send such parts by express van or a dedicated vehicle with insurance matched to their value.
Industrial towns around Rzeszów
- Mielec – aircraft production and Poland's first special economic zone, now also home to car parts, plastics and wood processing.
- Dębica – car and truck tyre production right on the A4.
- Krosno – a traditional glassmaking town, hand-made and machine-made tableware and decorative glass.
- Stalowa Wola – steelworks and heavy machinery, north along the S19.
- Sanok – rubber products and seals for the automotive industry.
Tyres in full loads, palletised glass, aerospace and automotive components and machine parts are the usual imports to Czechia. Machinery, steel, chemicals and packaging travel the other way.
Jasionka airport and the motorway junction
Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, about 8 km north of the city, has a 3,200 m runway, the third longest in Poland, and handles the largest cargo aircraft. Since 2022 it has been the main logistics hub for supplies to Ukraine. The A4 and the S19 cross next to it, warehouses and industrial halls have grown around the junction, and a rail link to the city centre opened in 2023. We collect air freight landed at Jasionka and truck it to Czechia.
Glass, tyres and aerospace parts
| Goods | Service | Key point |
|---|---|---|
| Tyres | full truck, high-volume trailer | loose-loaded, counted per piece |
| Krosno glass | groupage or full truck | sturdy pallets, fragile marking |
| Aerospace parts | express or dedicated vehicle | no transhipment, certificate travels with the part |
| Machine parts, steel | curtainsider, side loading | dimensions, weight, crane |
Tyres are usually hand-stacked loose to use the full volume, which can take several hours for a whole trailer; agree with the supplier who loads. Single pallets of glass suit pallet transport, provided the packing survives depot handling. Groupage from south-east Poland passes through Polish and Czech depots and usually takes three to five working days; for more than a few pallets, a part load on a direct truck is faster and kinder to glass.
All motorway to Ostrava
From Rzeszów the A4 runs west past Dębica, Tarnów, Kraków and Katowice; near Gliwice the A1 takes over to the Gorzyczki – Bohumín crossing. Ostrava is about 345 km away, so a truck loaded in the morning normally unloads the same afternoon. Brno is around 515 km and Prague about 715 km, meaning delivery on the second working day. The Kraków–Katowice stretch of the A4 has its own toll collection; elsewhere tolls are electronic. Trucks over 12 t may not run on Polish holidays and summer weekends. Eastwards the A4 continues about 90 km to the Korczowa crossing into Ukraine, which is outside the EU, so goods from there must be customs-cleared first.
Paperwork and receipt
A CMR note and invoice or delivery note are enough between Poland and Czechia. Aerospace parts usually carry a certificate per item that must travel with the goods. Check packaging on receipt and note any damage on the CMR. Get a figure from the calculator.
