Freight forwarding Nuremberg – transport to and from Czechia
Freight forwarding Nuremberg: deliveries to Franconian central warehouses, trade fair transport, sausages, beer and pencils to Czechia, routes from Pilsen.

Warehouses serving all of southern Germany
Four motorways meet around Nuremberg: the A3 (Frankfurt – Regensburg – Passau), the A9 (Berlin – Munich), the A6 (Heilbronn – Waidhaus) and the A73 (Bamberg – Feucht). Goods leaving Nuremberg reach most of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Thuringia within a day, which is why retail chains, online shops and wholesalers keep central warehouses here. For Czech producers of food, drinks, household goods, glass or furniture, a delivery for southern Germany often ends not at a shop but at a Nuremberg distribution centre.
These warehouses work with booked time slots. A truck that misses its slot waits for the next free one, sometimes until the following day. We therefore build in a buffer for the border and the Nuremberg ring road and check pallet labels, pallet height and Euro-pallet exchange with you in advance. Pallet exchange is common practice in Germany, so it helps to know whether the driver must bring empty pallets or will receive a pallet voucher.
Trade fair transport
Nuremberg's exhibition centre is among the largest in Germany. Besides the well-known toy fair, it hosts leading international fairs for organic food, packaging, embedded electronics, pet supplies and outdoor equipment. Czech exhibitors bring stands, exhibits, demonstration machines and promotional material. What matters for fair logistics:
- access to the grounds only during assigned build-up and dismantling hours, often with an entry permit,
- unloading inside the halls is usually done by the venue's contracted handling service, booked in advance,
- empty packaging is stored off the stand during the show and returned before dismantling,
- the return trip is planned for the first day after the fair, when hundreds of vehicles queue at the gates.
Within the EU, a CMR and delivery note are enough for stands and exhibits; no ATA carnet is needed. Smaller exhibit shipments go by express transport, complete stands by truck.
Franconian goods heading to Czechia
Industrial parts from the region are covered on the Prague – Nuremberg route page. Czech buyers also source these products from Nuremberg:
- Nuremberg sausages, a protected geographical indication, and other cured meats, carried chilled with a temperature log,
- Franconian beer from a region with one of the highest densities of breweries in the world, and Franconian wine from around Würzburg,
- pencils, coloured pencils and art supplies, for which the Nuremberg area is the historic centre of production,
- organic food from regional distributors, often as mixed pallet shipments,
- packaging materials and printed matter.
Beer and wine are heavy as well as fragile: a trailer reaches its weight limit long before it is full, so we plan by pallet weight rather than by number of pallet spaces.
Routes and transit times
| From | Route | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| Pilsen | D5, Rozvadov / Waidhaus, A6 | approx. 200 km |
| Prague | D5, Rozvadov / Waidhaus, A6 | approx. 300 km |
| Karlovy Vary region | road 6, Pomezí nad Ohří / Schirnding, Upper Franconia | approx. 200 km |
| Brno | D1, Prague, D5 | approx. 500 km |
A full truck covers each of these on the day of loading. Pallet groupage takes one to two working days from Prague or Pilsen and two to three from Moravia. Czech goods going the other way include food, beverages, glass, ceramics, furniture and garden products for Franconian warehouses, plus castings, pressings and cable harnesses for manufacturers in Erlangen and Fürth.
Rules and documents
Trucks over 7.5 tonnes may not drive in Germany on Sundays and public holidays, and in summer on Saturdays on selected motorways. German and Czech tolls are included in our price. No customs formalities apply: a CMR plus an invoice or delivery note is enough, with a temperature record for chilled food. Before booking, confirm the slot reference, gate address, number and height of pallets and the weight, then get a price in the calculator.
