Freight forwarding Lille – transport to and from Czechia
Road freight from Lille to the Czech Republic via Belgium: car parts, rail parts, food, glass and e-commerce goods from northern France. Pallets or full loads.

A French city on a Belgian route
The Lille conurbation runs straight into Belgium: the border passes between the streets of Tourcoing and Halluin, and Kortrijk and Tournai are a short drive away. So a truck from Lille to Prague spends most of its trip in Belgium and Germany, not in France. The usual route takes the A27 to Tournai, continues via Brussels or Mons to Liège, enters Germany near Aachen and runs via Cologne, Frankfurt and Nuremberg to the Waidhaus/Rozvadov crossing. For northern Bohemia a route via Kassel, Erfurt and Dresden can be shorter.
The distance to Prague is roughly 1,000 km, which a single driver covers in about 2 working days. Belgium charges a distance-based truck toll and Germany its truck toll, while the A22, A25 and A27 motorways around Lille are toll-free. All of it is included in the result from our freight calculator.
What northern France supplies
- car parts and components from the assembly plants around Valenciennes, Douai and Maubeuge,
- rolling-stock parts and equipment from the rail industry centred on Valenciennes,
- food: potato products, beet sugar, chicory, biscuits, beer and northern cheeses,
- tableware glass and packaging from the Pas-de-Calais,
- steel and metal products from the Dunkirk area,
- technical textiles, clothing and goods from e-commerce distribution centres.
Czech companies send car parts to the local assembly plants, along with machinery, glass, furniture and building materials. Freight flows between Benelux and Central Europe are strong, so return capacity is usually easy to find.
From wool mills to online retail
In the nineteenth century Roubaix and Tourcoing were among Europe's largest wool and textile centres. The big mills have gone, but technical textiles and clothing remain, and the area's tradition of mail-order selling grew into a major e-commerce logistics cluster. Large distribution centres line the A1 south of the city and the ring roads around Lille, serving France, Belgium and beyond.
A "Lille" pickup is therefore often a warehouse that consolidates goods from across France. These sites work with booked slots and labelled pallets; the driver needs the order number or warehouse reference, and a late arrival can mean waiting for the next free window.
Combining Lille with the UK or Benelux
Calais is about 110 km away and the port of Dunkirk about 75 km. If you buy both in Britain and in northern France or Flanders, a Lille pickup can be combined with a UK collection. The British part, however, is outside the EU: it needs export and import declarations and the consignee needs an EORI number (see our London page). Goods from France and Belgium travel with just an invoice and a CMR note.
Smaller consignments go on our groupage pallet service and take about 3–5 working days, including one cross-dock.
On the ground in Lille
Old Lille and the city centre have narrow lanes and limited access for large vehicles; shop deliveries go in a smaller truck with a tail lift. The ring roads and the A1 and A22 are congested at rush hour, so we schedule warehouse pickups outside peak times where the site allows. France bans trucks over 7.5 t from Saturday 22:00 to Sunday 22:00 and Germany on Sundays and holidays, so a Friday loading normally arrives on Monday or Tuesday. Potato products, cheese and fresh food travel in reefer trailers; please state the required temperature range in your request.
